The Hartville Group, and the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) have renewed their strategic partnership for pet insurance, continuing the strong collaboration between a leading voice for animal welfare and one of the largest and oldest pet health insurance providers in the U.S.
Initially established in 2006, the strategic partnership paved the way for Hartville to develop and launch ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, a leading U.S. pet health insurance program. In addition to promoting humane standards set by the ASPCA, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance furthers the ASPCA’s mission by helping pet parents afford quality veterinary care so their pets can live longer, healthier lives. As veterinary costs continue to rise, particularly as more sophisticated
treatments become available for pets, more pet parents need help affording this
care. In fact, U.S. pet parents are expected to spend $14.1 billion on
veterinary care this year—up 53 percent from 2006, according to the American Pet
Products Association (APPA).
With four increasing levels to fit pet parents’ needs and budget, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance offers coverage for accidents, illnesses and wellness care, including spay/neuter. In accordance with the ASPCA’s humane philosophy, treatments the ASPCA opposes, such as tail docking and declawing, are not covered. Customers may visit any licensed veterinarian in the U.S. or Canada, including specialists and emergency clinics, and all pets over eight weeks old are eligible for accident coverage regardless of age or health.
