ASPCA Pet Health Insurance
vs. PetFirst

PetFirst's plans have annual limits that set a total reimbursement amount for the year. That means that, if a pet is unlucky and gets sick three times in a year, the reimbursements cannot be higher than the total payout limit.

Level 2:
Lifetime 5,000:

* Based on mixed breed dog under age 1 in zip 11215 as of 4/17/14; using reasonably comparable plans, including co-insurance and deductible amounts where available.

On the other hand, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance plans have an incident limit. The full benefit amount is available for each new sickness or injury, so there's no limit to the number of accidents or illnesses we'll cover each year. Considering many of our customers who file a claim wind up filing three or more in a year,+ this can make a big difference.

Most pet insurance plans cover accidents and illnesses. If you're also interested in coverage for hereditary and congenital conditions, make sure both types of conditions are covered by the plan you select.
