In what must have been a heart-stopping moment, one of our customers recently found her 6-month-old Goldendoodle chewing on a steak knife he had grabbed off the kitchen counter.

Though he initially seemed OK, she rushed him to the veterinarian when she noticed he was breathing differently later. By then, the family also realized a fork had gone missing, so all eyes turned to the pilfering puppy.

Thankfully, the X-rays only showed a swollen soft palate—and no sign of a fork—so no procedures or medications were needed.

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance reimbursed this customer more than $140 for the diagnostic procedures to put everyone’s mind at ease. We’re so relieved this puppy is OK!
