Top 3 Pet Insurance Questions
  1. Do you cover pre-existing conditions?

No pet insurance plan covers conditions that are present before a plan's effective date. With our plans, a new incident of a pre-existing condition may be covered if it’s been cured and treatment-free for 180 days.

  2. How long does it take for claims to be paid?

We work hard to process claims quickly, and they’re typically completed in about a week. Our policy is to reimburse claims within 30 days after receiving all required information.

  3. What does my clinic need to do with claim forms?

Not a thing – you don’t need to fill out any part of the form or even sign it. You also don’t have to wait for reimbursements to get paid, since your clients pay your practice directly.

Here are some tips to recommend pet insurance at your clinic:

  1. Identify a staff member as the pet insurance point person
  2. Pick one or two providers to focus on.
  3. Educate your staff with a lunch and learn meeting.

Plan Spotlight:

1 Millionth Claim

8 out of 10 veterinary practices in the US have clients with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, so it’s not surprising that we processed our 1 millionth claim this summer!*

The claim was for a Beagle mix bitten by a copperhead snake. Luckily, the pup survived and had our coverage to help his pet parents cover more than $900 in veterinary care costs.
